Zion 3

Additional Zion photos which show the water damage. The first two pictures are taken in the exact same location as a previous post which included the cairns (e.g., the stone frog, stone people in the river). While the river raged it took the cairns along with it.

Here are some waterfalls created by the recent rains.

October Zion Trip

After the festival, we went to Zion for the afternoon. We thought we would see some foliage but the leaves have not started to change. We went for a hike on one of the trails and found the following cairns.

Mesquite Fine Arts Festival

We celebrated our 4th anniversary over the Columbus Day weekend. We spent Saturday and Sunday selling Leapin' Lizards Pottery in our booth. A great success!

Sunset in Cedar City, Utah

Neil and I seem to have a knack for pulling into a Walmart parking lot right as an incredible sunset is happening. Here is a photo taken from the Walmart, Cedar City, parking lot yesterday.

Trip to Cedar City

Sorry. We have been having trouble downloading with this computer. Here are some pics from our recent trip to Cedar City. Neil went mountain biking at Brian Head Ski Resort. We also attended the Shakespearean Festival at Southern Utah University. Included, too, are a few pics from a recent visit to Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, and Navajo Lake.

Cacti blooming in our back yard

Spring flowers front of house

Everything is blooming in town. Here are some pics of the front of our house.

Events

Bill Engvall and PBR were fun. We also got to go shopping at "real" stores other than Walmart!

Aria, a few more pics

Aria Stay

A few weekends back we stayed at the new Aria Resort in Las Vegas City Center complex. It was absolutely beautiful. We were in a corner suite. All of the elctronics were controlled by a device on the nightstand. From here you could control all the lights,. the curtains, the tv, heating/cooling, etc. I have also attached pics of the bathroom as it contained features neither of us had seen. Anyone ever seen a washlet before? Nowhere in the Aria brochures do they mention this feature found in their rooms. Thought you would like to see it.

Moonlight over Mesquite

It was a beautiful night in the desert. We sat outside and watched the moon rise by the light of the fire pit.

Nevada Old Men in the Mountain

As we were leaving Gold Butte, we noticed this rock formation. If you look at the top, you can see two profiles.

Native American Rock Art

During our trip to Gold Butte we saw the following petroglyphs. We plan on going back to find more.

Trip to Gold Butte

There is an incredibly beautiful area about 25 miles from our house called Gold Butte. We drove there on Sunday and hiked. Here are a few pics of the incredible scenery in this protected area. You can see Lake Mead in one of the photos, as well. More info on Gold Butte can be found at http://www.friendsofgoldbutte.org/
